This year’s 1 hour pay day loan campaign is focused on creating economic opportunities for the Pokot people. For a variety of reasons the local economy struggles to provide job opportunities for the community. The location is distant and isolated, with only one poorly maintained dirt road providing access. The nearest marketplace, bank, or 1000 installment loan with no credit check commercial area is 2-3 hours away by truck. Furthermore, access to loans and financing to pursue business opportunities is even harder to acquire.
To help alleviate this problem, the local Daughters of Charity are stepping in to create a sewing co-operative that will 100 day loans bad credit be owned and operated by the Pokot people themselves. The co-op will produce and sell clothing, school uniforms, and other products to the surrounding communities. This opportunity will give the Pokot women the chance to earn a living and provide for their families.
